Nick Kolch- McNair Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Nicholas Kolch for being a recipient of the 2020 McNair Summer Research Scholarship! This is a nationally recognized scholarship that allows students to conduct a portion of a research project, with continued support through graduate school.

R01 - National Institute on Aging

Dr. Jefferson Kinney and Dr. James Hyman received a R01 grant from the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health for the research project “Aging and Hyperglycemia Alter Molecular Mechanisms and Hippocampal Oscillations Consistent with Alzheimer’s Disease.” Congratulations!

Renzo Chuapoco- Winning Recipient of 2019 McNair

Renzo Chuapoco won the 2019 McNair Scholarship. This is a Nationally recognized scholarship that allows research assistants to work closely with graduate students to conduct a portion of a research project. This allows the research assistant to become more independent, and enhance their research skills. The program comes with a stipend. McNair is recognized and continues to support individuals through graduate school.

2020 IDeA National Resource for Proteomics Faculty and Student Workshop

Amanda Leisgang, Andrew Ortiz and Arnold Salazar were winning recipients of the 2020 IDeA National Resource for Proteomics Faculty and Student Workshop in Little Rock, AR. The Proteomics Faculty and Student Workshop is a conference where faculty and doctoral students gain a fundamental understanding of how proteomics (i.e. Mass Spectrometry) can be incorporated into their research.
